WILLIAMSON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Rotary new initiative to end human trafficking Williamson County event

Williamson County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.

Alongside Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson, Tennessee RAGAS Coordinator, Steve Grissim has assembled a bank of experts to meet with Williamson County businesses about their roles in putting an end to human trafficking in our community.

RAGAS, Rotarian Action Group Against Slavery, continues to gain traction worldwide as Rotarians leverage the same muscle used to fight polio worldwide to work to end the evil of human trafficking victimizing individuals from all walks of life including children.

94 to 110 minors are trafficked in Tennessee EVERY MONTH

1 in 4 slavery victims are children

Around 70% are women and young girls

The event “Let’s Talk Williamson County” happens Friday, January 11th, 7:30-9:00 am at the Williamson County Enrichment Center 110 Everbright Avenue in Franklin.

Small business and corporate involvement translates into large community impact. Real change occurs when businesses leverage what they do best:

employee training

supply chain control

workforce development

Join other Middle Tennessee business leaders at an informational meeting to learn about this growing business movement in Tennessee and the United States.

Hear first-hand perspectives from law enforcement, a human trafficking survivor, and a Williamson County national company already taking a stand.

Williamson, Inc. President and CEO, Matt Largen, will also speak at the event.

AND you’ll leave with information and resources to start having an impact immediately.

Decision makers within corporations and small businesses are strongly encouraged to attend the event to learn how to effectively join in this initiative.

Coffee and light breakfast will be provided from 7:00-7:30 am. Seating is limited. Please RSVP to https://letstalkwilliamson.eventbrite.com.
