Graduates earn 60 degrees from Welch College


About 41.7 percent of the 60 degrees and certificates handed out by Welch College in 2017-18 were to students in theology and religious vocations programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Gallatin conferred 21 bachelor's degrees and 4 master's degrees in theology and religious vocations programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in bible/biblical studies. Data shows the school gave out 13 bachelor's degrees in bible/biblical studies, followed by 8 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 5 bachelor's degrees in general psychology.

The college enrolled 366 students for 2017-18, including 348 in undergraduate programs and 18 in graduate programs.
