About 95.7 percent of the 978 degrees and certificates handed out by The University of Tennessee-Health Science Center in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Memphis conferred 564 doctor's degrees and 202 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.
But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in pharmacy. Data shows the school gave out 158 doctor's degrees in pharmacy, followed by 156 doctor's degrees in medicine and 99 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse.
The university enrolled 3,199 students for 2017-18, including 341 in undergraduate programs and 2,858 in graduate programs.
