Maury County ranked 13th in state for resident earnings in 2017


Maury County ranked 13th among counties in Tennessee by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Maury County residents was an inflation-adjusted $26,774 per year. Maury County had 33,332 households in 2017, with a population of 87,606.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Williamson County. Williamson County's median income was $42,496 per year after adjusting for inflation – $15,722 more than Maury County. It had 73,160 households in 2017 and a population of 212,161.

Fentress County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Tennessee, with a median income of only $15,980 per year. That was $10,794 less than the median income in Maury County at the time. Fentress County had 7,385 households in 2017 and a population of 17,940.
